What is Taekwondo?  A form of unarmed combat  that originated in Korea about 2,000 years ago.  Literally speaking, Taekwondo means the “way of the feet and hands.”

Why should I learn Taekwondo?  Taekwondo is the world’s most popular traditional martial art, and  the most widely practiced.  It is also a formidable self-defense and an Olympic sport enjoyed by children, teens and adults.  People take Taekwondo for self-defense, physical fitness, discipline, self-confidence, inner strength, flexibility and focus.  Learning Taekwondo is character building at its best.

What is the difference between Taekwondo and other martial arts?

Taekwondo emphasizes a lot of kicking and is best noted for its high flying and spinning kicks.  Unlike other martial arts, one does not need any special skills (such as height, or built) to excel in this martial art.

How can Taekwondo help my child who seems to lack focus and interest in school?

We have exercises and drills which help condition the mind and body which help the
student to focus and concentrate.   Promotion tests are conducted regularly to see
how the student performs which boosts his/her confidence and self-esteem.  A
confident child will perform better in school.

I am already 45 years old.  Am I too old to learn Taekwondo?

No one is too old to learn Taekwondo. Aside from learning self-defense, you will be stronger and more flexible resulting in a healthier you.

My child already plays other sports.  Can Taekwondo help him become a better all around athlete?

Absolutely.  Taekwondo can help your child excel in his/her favorite sport.  We have exercises unique to Taekwondo designed to improve your child’s strength, flexibility, power, endurance, speed and balance.

Will Taekwondo make my son a bully?

He is already very aggressive by nature.  Bullies are very insecure people.  Learning Taekwondo from a qualified instructor will help your child develop true self-confidence and self-esteem.  He will soon learn to channel his energies and talents into more productive activities.

How do I enroll?

Visit us during regular class hours (MWF from 3 pm – 8 pm).  If you are a minor (below 18), you must bring your parent or legal guardian.  You must fill up an application form / liability release and pay the appropriate fees (tuition, registration and uniform) and you can start immediately.  All uniforms are provided by the school.
